Light and Shade?
Lightandshade is a webshop specialised in high-quality design lighting and furniture. We, the brain behind the website, are always searching for products innovative in design as well as in quality, finishing and originality.
Our webshop www.lightandshade.be enables online buyers to run their purchases in a pleasant, transparent and secure way. Moreover, the buyer can track his/her purchases throughout the delivery process since all our packages are sent through a track and trace system.
As soon as Lightandshade receives the confirmation of an order on its website, there is a valid agreement between the buyer and Lightandshade. In the event of large orders, orders by minors, incomplete order procedures or previous order problems, Lightandshade reserves the right to refuse the order or to subject the order to additional conditions.
Invoices and payments
Orders are always paid in advance. With exception, orders may be paid after delivery. The payment period for orders paid after delivery is equal to 10 working days. The payment period starts on the next working day after receipt of the order. The signature on delivery by the courier service counts as receipt and approval of the order.
If items were inadvertently delivered to the recipient, the recipient has 10 business days to notify Lightandshade. If the items are not refused upon delivery, or are not disputed, the receipt of the items by the recipient is approved and consequently the order.
In the event of irresponsible non-payment due to unwillingness and/or negligence, damages of 10%, with a minimum of 50€, will be charged by law and without formal notice. And a maximum of €2500 per invoice.
The recipient has 10 working days to dispute the received invoice. If the invoice or delivered goods are not disputed within this period, the order (and thereby delivered items) will automatically be confirmed as correctly and properly received.
Transport loss or damage
In accordance with the law on commercial practices, loss and/or damage to an ordered product during transportation is to be borne by the seller. Therefore the buyer needs to inform Lightandshade via e-mail or fax within a period of 24hours after delivery. Lightandshade reserves the right to refuse the application if this term has not been respected.
Right of withdrawal within 14 days
The Belgian law on commercial practices and the information and the protection of the consumer of April the 6th 2010, allows the buyer to inform the seller (Info@lightandshade.be) that he/she renounces the sale, this within 14 days, starting the day of delivery of the product.
The goods shall be returned in the original packaging within 5 working days after notification of withdrawal. Products that have been used, connected, manipulated or modified by the buyer cannot be returned.
The product box may not be used as a shipping box. The product box must always be packed extra in order to avoid damage to the product box.
The buyer shall add a copy of the invoice and a cover letter into the box. The invoiced amount will be paid back upon receipt of the returned goods. The refund shall be made to the card/account number or payment method on which the purchaser placed the order. The buyer settles for all return costs.
Lightandshade only settles for return costs when the wrong goods have been delivered. Lightandshade reserves the right to refuse returned goods and the refund of returned goods when the packaging has been opened, when the goods have been damaged by the buyer or if the buyer does not return the items within 14 days of receiving the return form.
Any replacement or refund will only be carried out once the items have been returned and have arrived at the return address.
How to cancel a sent order
The buyer is to wait for the goods to be delivered. The goods can then be returned in accordance with our return policy. Lighandshade will refund the invoiced amount as soon as possible.
How to return goods?
Check whether sufficient postage has been paid (the parcel should be sent through registered post if the value of parcel is higher than € 50,00). The buyer shall send a copy of the invoice and a cover letter describing bank account number and the invoiced amount. The invoiced amount will be paid back upon receipt of the returned goods. The buyer settles for all return costs.

Unstamped or insufficient stamped parcels will be refused and returned to sender.
With few exceptions, the purchase will be delivered within 3 weeks. The latest delivery date will always be notified if possible.
Lightandshade is not responsible for problems with the courier service or transport company.
Lightandshade is not responsible for receiving a wrong address from the customer. If a package was not delivered because of a wrong address, the customer is responsible. If the package is missing because of this, Lightandshade will not refund the order.
When ordering multiple items, the package only leaves when all items are in stock. If the delivery period of 3 weeks is jeopardized by this, the out of stock item will be sent separately and free of charge.
The buyer is clearly informed about shipping costs (foreign as domestic shipments) when making an order. Shipping costs vary depending on the weight of the parcel. All parcels are sent through registered post. Consequently, the buyer should sign for receipt.
Lightandshade’s products are described as completely as possible and in good faith. Offers and prices are valid on the day they are offered on our website. All prices include VAT and any environmental taxes (Recupel and Bebat). Lightandshade cannot be held responsible for errors in pricing or offers. In case of an error, the order will be cancelled and refunded.
Lightandshade may cancel and refund the order at any time without the consent of the customer.
Lightandshade cannot be held responsible for any consequences that would result from a product being out of stock or a late delivery after the delivery term of 2-3 weeks.
Lightandshade offers products on the basis of manufacturers' catalogs. Lightandshade can not be held responsible if a product is no longer available from the manufacturer. If a product is no longer available, the order will be refunded immediately.
Additional promos or discounts do not apply to personalised offers.
Many of our products come with a very strong warranty that ranges from 2 years to life, provided that the products were used in a correct way.
The warranty is based on the warranty of the manufacturer/brand. Lightandshade follows the warranty procedure and conditions of the relevant manufacturer/brand.
Lamps and batteries are not covered by the warranty, unless otherwise stated.
Articles that have been damaged intentionally, or of which the customer has made an attempt to repair the article himself resulting in additional damage, are not covered by the guarantees.
Please contact Lightandshade (info@Lightandshade.be) before each warranty case so that we can correctly follow the manufacturer's warranty procedure.
If the warranty applies, please send us the product sufficiently stamped, together with a copy of your purchase invoice and a description of the damage. Lightandshade is free to repair or replace the damaged product with the same or another product of the same nature and price range. The replaced or repaired product will be sent to you free of charge within a previously agreed period, following the manufacturer's procedure.
Choice of law
All products offered at www.Lightandshade.be are governed by and construed in accordance with the Belgian law. Foreign customers should consult the law in their own country if they have doubts as to the legality of their purchase in their own country.
Lightandshade can by no means be held liable if the offered items are used in a wrong or irresponsible way by the buyer, neither can Lighandshade be held responsible for material or physical damage to third parties caused by incorrect and/or illegal use of the products mentioned on this website.
